I can do all things through Christ

From a CHB guest blogger:

As I approached this new year, as in years past, I wanted to make some life-style changes, that I knew would have a positive impact on my overall health and well-being.  But, I haven't had much success in the past. But looking back, I can honestly say, that I pretty much relied on my 'own will' power, rather than seeking 'God's power'. This is affirmed in the book 'Alcoholics Anonymous': our human resources, as marshalled by our wills, are not sufficient. They fail utterly.  As soon as we express a willingness to believe in a higher Power greater than ourselves, we commence to get results. So, when a desire enters my conscious awareness (thoughts & feelings don't bother me anymore, for I know they are totally meaningless, until I assess them for truthfulness per God's Word) to engage in a behavior that is inconsistent with my health goals, I pause, and pray: God, I have the strength for all things in 'You', that gives me the power (Philippians 4:13 - as written in the oldest complete new testament manuscript ever found - 4th century).
