Healing truth: an episode mental illness, does not mean a dreadful future

From Christian Healing Blog volunteer contributor, Jeff from Ohio

I remember sitting in the waiting room at Emerge Ministries back in Akron, Ohio, waiting to see my Christian counselor. At the time, my life was 'in the pit', mentally, physically, and spiritually. While waiting for my counselor to arrive, I picked up a pamphlet in the waiting room. The pamphlet contained a very positive/motivating/healing testimony from a former client of Emerge Ministries. The former client's name was Anne Beiler, founder of Auntie Anne's Pretzels. Reading this, led me to research other people, who had also experienced mental health challenges at some point in their life, and yet were still able to victoriously live out their particular vocation, calling, or ministry. I came across people such as: Sheila Walsh, Joyce Meyer, Charles Spurgeon, Bill Wilson (founder of A.A.), Oprah Winfrey, Dolly Parton, Micheangelo, Barbara Bush, Winston Churchhill, Abraham Lincoln and many others. If they all could ultimately live a life of sharing their God given gifts and talents with others, then why couldn't I also?
