No human being has, or ever will, be able to fully understand the question: "Why do people suffer"?Sacred Scripture is rather clear that: God's ways are not our ways and our ways are not God's ways. However, could one possible response to the 'suffering' question be:
a Christian's REAL identity, their 'I/Me', is their 'Soul Spirit' given to them by God at their creation and lives forever, and not their 'Body' that suffers. The physical body, or flesh, ultimately dies and turns back to dust. But, the 'Soul', lives on forever in eternity.
"All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all".
(2 Corinthians 4:15-17)
